The Social Systems Research Institute (SSRI) was created in 1960 and provides research support to the
faculty in the
Department of Economics at UW-Madison. SSRI provides both logistical and administrative support for research related activities such as the SSRI Working Paper Series, the
Workshop (lecture) Series, the submission of research grants to funding agencies and the organization of conferences. SSRI is supported by contributions from the UW-Madison College of Letters and Sciences and a sub-budget of the UW-Madison Department of Economics.
