What is the Economics Career Development Office (ECDO)? The ECDO provides career development services and resources to undergraduate students who are either declared economics majors or are considering majoring in economics.
As an economics major you have many career options; use this site as a resource as you progress through your collegecareer. Don’t wait until you are a junior or a senior to start planning for your future. Before you know it, you’ll be graduating!
Economics Orientations are held at the beginning of each semester. During the orientation information is provided about career options as an economics major and various resources available to you as a UW student. Registration for BuckyNet is also discussed.
Be sure to check the ECDO Blog for information on job & internship openings, upcoming campus events and other career-related information.

- Ask questions about the economics major and how it relates to your career goals
- Schedule an appointment to discuss career resources available to students
- Have your resume & cover letter reviewed. Feel free to e-mail them as a Word document
- Conduct mock interviews. If you have an upcoming interview this is great practice and allows you to get feedback on ways to improve
- Discuss any other questions you may have about your career, interests, skills or anything else.
